| Mode Of Action | The rationale of oral rehydration therapy is preservation of the facilitated glucose-sodium co-transport system in the small-bowel mucosa. Generally, all oral rehydration solutions contain sodium and potassium to promote fluid uptake and replacement of major electrolytes lost. |
